 Clay-Chalkville 38, Parker 13 Final | Friday - December 1, 2023

CLAY, Alabama -- The #1 Clay-Chalkville Cougars used a stingy defense and won 38-13 against Parker in the Class 6A semifinal game at Cougar Stadium on Friday night. Clay-Chalkville will face Saraland in the Class 6A championship game at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, on Friday night.

After throwing a touchdown pass in the second quarter, Cougars quarterback Jaylen Mbakwe was knocked out of the game, and backup quarterback Aaron Frye led Clay-Chalkville to a convincing win. "I'm proud of the kid," said Cougars head coach Drew Gilmore. "He stepped in like it was nothing. Talented kid; the skies the limit for him. He was prepared and took advantage of the opportunity that he had. I am super proud of him, and I think the world of him." MORE GAME STORY

 Thompson 21, Hewitt-Trussville 10 Final | Friday, November 24, 2023

ALABASTER, Alabama -- The Thompson Warriors scored three consecutive touchdowns as they defeated Hewitt-Trussville 21-10 in the Class 7A semifinals game at Warrior Stadium on Friday night. Thompson will face Central-Phenix City on Wednesday, December 6 at 7:00 pm at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and will try for their fifth in a row 7A State Championship.

The three Thompson touchdowns were enough, as the Warriors defense played a key role in this game. "We play with composure," said Warriors head coach Mark Freeman. "We were down 10-0 and came back. We are young in a couple of spots and getting better. We had to regain our composure at halftime. This time of the year, you have to run the football, play defense, and stop the other team from running the football. You have to play great defense. Our kicking game has been much better the last three weeks, so we relied on our defense." MORE GAME STORY

 Pike Road 43, Carver-Montgomery 22 | Friday - October 27, 2023

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- Ja’Michael Jones scored two touchdowns as the Pike Road Patriots got the 43-22 win over Carver-Montgomery at the Pike Road Stadium on Friday night. With the win, the Patriots take the Class 6A, Region 2 Championship.

Pike Road (7-2, 6-0) has won seven straight games, along with many youth in key positions, and came away with the region title. "I saw a lot of fight, and it was a very emotional game with many freshmen and sophomores; we are going to enjoy this win," said Patriots head coach Granger Shook. "Very proud of this team. We must fix these mistakes even though we have a young team, but I will take this win over a playoff team." MORE GAME STORY

 Central-Phenix City 41, Auburn 20 Final | Friday - October 20, 2023

AUBURN, Alabama -- Cam Coleman scored four touchdowns as the Central-Phenix City Red Devils defeated Auburn 41-20 to win the Class 7A, Region 2 title at Duck Samford Stadium on Friday night. The Andrew Alford to Coleman connection was huge all night as the Red Devils got the big road victory in region play.

Central-Phenix City (8-0, 7-0) passing game made the big plays all night when they needed them and has been solid for pretty much of the season. "We showed a lot of perseverance in this game," said Red Devils head coach Patrick Nix. "Things didn't go our way a lot of the times, but the guys kept fighting and made a lot of big plays. We played a very good football team." MORE GAME STORY

 Parker 13, Mountain Brook 10 Final | Friday - October 13, 2023

MOUNTAIN BROOK -- Na'eem Offord scored the winning touchdown with 34 seconds left in the game to give Parker the 13-10 win over Mountain Brook at Spartan Stadium on Friday night. With the win, Parker takes the Class 6A, Region 5 title. Mountain Brook came into the game with a 6-0 all-time lead over Parker but came up short tonight.

With a fourth down play, the Parker offense gets the winning score late in the game. "I knew that I was going to get into the end zone," said Thundering Herd DB Offord. "As a leader, I had to make the play for my team. This was a big win because many people didn't think we could do this tonight. We knew as a team we could do this even without a few key players tonight." MORE GAME STORY
