WR #4 Jonathan Rozier touchdown catch against Mae Jemison on Thursday night

HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Jabari Davis scored three touchdowns to lead the Sparkman Senators to defeat the Mae Jemison Jaguars 31-7 at Milton Frank Stadium on Thursday night. Davis set a career-high three scores in the non-region win at the Senators, improving to 3-3 on the season.

Mae Jemison (2-4) scored first in the game, but the Senators ripped off 31 straight points for the win. "We had a lot of fight with a little different offense with the rain," said Senators head coach Ronnie Watson. "I'm proud of our team coming out and executing in these conditions. The defense came through just like they did last week. We have to get ready for four straight region games."

With 3:54 left in the first quarter, Mae Jemison scored on a 2-yard touchdown run by Tavarian Moore-Langford, and the Jags took an early 7-0 lead. The Jags' offense had a few moments, but 15 penalties for over 150 yards set back the offense.

With 10:27 left in the second quarter, Sparkman scored on a Keaton Williams to Jonathan Rozier 11-yard touchdown pass play, and the game was tied at 7-7. The Senators came back on another successful drive when Davis scored on a 2-yard touchdown run, and Sparkman took the 14-7 lead with 4:38 left in the second quarter.

In the second half, it was all Sparkman. With 7:17 left in the third quarter, Davis scored on a 4-yard touchdown run around the right end, and the Senators took a 21-7 lead. Junior Emmanuel Armstrong picked off a Jag pass and put the Senators in a good field position. With 9:30 left in the fourth quarter, David Faulk kicked a 33-yard field goal, and Sparkman led 24-7.

With 1:02 left in the game, Davis scored his third touchdown of the game on a 12-yard touchdown run up the middle of the field. "We went down 0-3, and people stepped up, we made some changes, and now we are 3-3 on the season," said Senators RB Smith. "We made some adjustments on offense with the rain. We had good blocking up front, and we're proud of our guys that stepped up. We played old school on offense and got it done."
