 Spain Park 39, Hoover 37 Final | August 30, 2024

HOOVER, Alabama -- With only 50 seconds left in the game, Brock Bradley hit Corey Barber on a 9-yard fade route to give the Spain Park Jaguars a 39-37 win over cross-town rival Hoover in a classic matchup between the two schools. With 2:29 left in the game, Hoover took the lead on a 9-yard touchdown run by Anthony Allen, and the Bucs led late in the game.

Both teams traded scores in the fourth quarter before Spain Park came out on top. "I'm so proud of these kids, coaches, and our community; we have a good thing going over there on Jaguar Drive," said Jags head coach Tim Vakakes. "I told them the toughest team would figure out a way to win, and they did. Hats off to Hoover; what a heck of a ballgame. I'm so proud of our team. There is no quarterback in the country that I would rather have behind center than Brock Bradley." MORE

 Clay-Chalkville 62, Ramsay 7 Final | Thursday - August 29, 2024

BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- Aaron Ousley scored three first-quarter touchdowns, and Josh Woods scored three touchdowns as the (6A) Clay-Chalkville Cougars defeated 5A Ramsay 62-7 at Legion Field on Thursday night. Quarterback Aaron Frye threw four touchdowns, and the Cougars offense rolled for much of the night.

With over 500 total yards for the Cougars, first-year starter Frye played well in a road start. "I thought Aaron played really well and took care of the ball," said Cougars head coach Stuart Floyd. He made a lot of big third-down conversions for us. I've been telling people that he will be the next one. That is my job to put him into good situations. Super kid, smart, everybody played a little better around him tonight." MORE

 Carver-Montgomery 41, Vestavia Hills 19 Final | Friday - August 23, 2024

MONTGOMERY, Alabama -- TJ Russell threw for three touchdown passes as the #3 Carver-Montgomery Wolverines defeated the Vestavia Hill Rebels 41-19 in the 2024 Kickoff Classic at the Cramton Bowl on Friday night. The Carver-Montgomery offense had about 400 yards in the win, and they got the big win against 7A power Vestavia Hills.

Running backs Tre Berry and Anthony Rogers, wide receivers Zion Crumpton, TB Norman, and CJ Cargill did the most damage for the Wolverines offense. "We made some big plays on offense, and the defense caused five turnovers," said Wolverines head coach Bobby Carr. "We started this thing back in March, and we made some mistakes, but they are things that we can fix. I thought we were prepared. Hats off to our defense, and we made the big play when needed. TJ made a lot of good plays and extended plays with his feet. He wants to get better every day, and his best days are in front of him. To see these Lanier kids, Carver players and me coming here and it all coming together. I love these kids." MORE
